Here and now I reinforce that the Municipality of Székesfehérvár is following the recommendations of the Hungarian Coronavirus Operational Board and the directives submitted by the Hungarian Government to mitigate possible spread of the coronavirus. I urge all organisations, institutions, communities and individuals to do the same.

The following protective measures have been taken in Székesfehérvár:

- Emails were sent to managers, directors, etc. of all municipal institutions suitable for hosting large public events and I asked them to impose a ban on organizing or hosting indoor events with an audience of more than 100 persons, while outdoor events with more than 500 persons attending will also be subject to the ban. That measure is valid for all cultural and sports facilities.

- Csitáry G. Emil Swimming Pool and Köfém Swimming Pool are closed. In the former one the City Maintenance Service does its usual annual maintenance work.

- Programme series of Open Gyms are temporarily interrupted.

- Competitions of Students Olympic Games are postponed.

- ”Atlantis Programme” theatrical student performances as well as all performances in Vörösmarty Theatre are cancelled.

- On the basis of the decision of the Hungarian Coronavirus Operational Board and the Hungarian Government there are no restrictions in kindergartens, nursery schools, primary and secondary schools.

- An extra group within the City Maintenance Service is formed (15 persons+ 2 vehicles) to carry out issues that may arise and require rapid actions.

- I ask all Székesfehérvár Citizens to do their parts and follow the hygiene recommendations carefully to mitigate possible spread of the coronavirus.

- Please, be aware of the restriction that patient visits are suspended in hospitals.

- Apply and make your environment apply recommended travel restrictions. Postpone your travel abroad if it is possible.

- Renew your expired personal identitfication documents after the revocation of the state of emergency.

The Municipality of Székesfehérvár is in continuous contact with competent bodies and authorities. We share all credible information we have. Necessary resources to avoid the community spread of the coronavirus are available on the basis of the reserve specified in the budget adopted by the Assembly.

Policy published on Tuesday, 11th March, 2020 is still effect. We aim to keep citizens informed of the latest news. For up-to-date information visit the website of Székesfehérvár.

Make sure that you do everything you can to protect your health and safety. Help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Yours Sincerely,

Dr. András Cser-Palkovics
